The Madmen are running the movies

You might think you don’t know the name Madman Entertainment but if you like your movies a little more interesting than the mainstream, then there is a good chance you have a Madman movie or two in your DVD collection. Madman is now one of Australia's leading independent film companies and was founded just in time to bring all the good movies to Australia, rather than forcing us to get our docos, arthouse and world cinema via good movie smuggling rings.

Join me, Jo Cohen, and the Sydney Morning Herald’s Scott Ellis, as we talk to Paul Weigard, founder and director of Madman Entertainment, about some of his most anticipated new releases including Buck and Arrietty.

"We all get dressed for Bill"

Why on earth would Vogue Editor Anna Wintour make such a statement? And about a man in a ratty, blue, street-sweeper smock no less? Well it’s high time you met Bill Cunningham, the cycling fashion encyclopedia and street photographer extraordinaire.

As the New York Times’ tireless photographer for over 30 years, Bill has crisscrossed Manhattan countless times to bring readers his signature mix of high society and street fashion. The spritely octogenarian (really!) has an utterly infectious joie de vivre that simply leaps off the screen in Richard Press’ beautiful tribute to Bill and the bustling city captured in his photographs.

Join me, Alice Tynan, Movie Clubber Oscar Hillerstrom and Empire Magazine’s David Michael Brown for our own little onscreen love letter to Bill. For this is truly one of the most charming documentaries you’ll see this year!
